Alfredo Baptista, 60, is Executive Director of Portugal Telecom, the largest telecommunications company in Portugal, with over ninety three million customers in Portugal, Brazil, Africa and Asia at the end of 2011. Alfredo Baptista was appointed in April 2011 and was elected in April 2012 for the 2012-2014 term.
 
Alfredo Baptista is Member of the Board of Directors of the company that manages the Portuguese business (PT Portugal), overseeing Technology and Wholesale.
 
Alfredo Baptista has served as board member in several PT companies since 1994, having begun his career in 1979 in Telefones de Lisboa e Porto (TLP) having held positions of director of the Business Unit Large Customers from 1992 to 1994, Director of Planning and Control from 1987 to 1992 and Commercial Director from 1985 to 1986 .
 
Alfredo Baptista holds a degree in Electrical Engineering - Electronics and Telecommunications - Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon.
